Terms of Service
Effective date: 2026-07-20. Last updated: 2026-07-20.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of theYoutube video summarizer Chrome extension, the website athttps://ytsummarizer.pro, and any related features (together, the "Service"). Read them carefully. By installing the extension, creating an account, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
The Service is operated by an independent developer ("we", "us"). You can reach us at legal@ytsummarizer.pro.
2. What the Service does
The Service helps you:
- generate an AI summary of a YouTube video using YouTube's own caption tracks as the source;
- copy the summary as Markdown or download it as .md or .txt;
- on the Pro plan, request AI transcription for a video that has no captions so it can still be summarized.
The extension runs on youtube.com/watch pages. It does not read data from any other website.
3. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. If you sign in with Google, you are responsible for keeping your Google credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in a way that breaks any law or third-party right;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code, except where such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law;
- interfere with, disrupt, or circumvent the security, quotas, rate limits, or integrity of the Service or the underlying providers;
- use the Service to scrape, mirror, or systematically republish third-party content, including YouTube channels, in a way that violates YouTube's own Terms of Service or the rights of the content owner;
- submit content that is illegal, defamatory, infringing, malicious, or harmful;
- share, resell, or make available the paid plan or its outputs on a commercial basis without a separate written agreement with us;
- use automated scripts, bots, or "headless" browsers to interact with the Service outside of our published API.
5. YouTube and third-party content
The Service accesses public YouTube pages that you visit. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google. Your use of YouTube is governed byYouTube's Terms of Service and Google's applicable policies. Do not use the Service in a way that violates those policies.
Transcripts, summaries, and other content generated by the Service are provided for your personal, informational use. You are responsible for confirming that any further use — republishing, quoting, translating, monetising — is permitted by the original creator and by law.
6. AI-generated output
Summaries and AI transcriptions are produced by third-party AI providers (for example Google Gemini and AssemblyAI). AI systems can be wrong, biased, or incomplete. You must review the output before relying on it, and you should not use it for medical, legal, financial, or other high-stakes decisions without an independent qualified check.
7. Plans, pricing, and billing
- Free plan — no charge; usage is subject to the quotas described on our pricing page.
- Pro Monthly and Pro Yearly — recurring subscription billed monthly or annually at the prices shown on the pricing page. Payments are processed by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd), which acts as the Merchant of Record and reseller for these purchases. You authorise Paddle to charge your payment method for each renewal until you cancel.
- Cancellation. You can cancel a recurring subscription at any time from the extension settings or by emailing us. Pro access continues until the end of the billing period already paid for.
- 7-day money-back guarantee. You can request a full refund within 7 days of your first purchase of any paid plan — Monthly or Yearly — by emailing legal@ytsummarizer.pro, no questions asked. After that period, fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law (for example the EU 14-day right of withdrawal for consumers where it has not been waived). If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days and we will investigate in good faith.
- Price changes. We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 30 days' notice by email or in-app notice. A price change only applies to billing periods that start after the notice period.
- Taxes. Any applicable taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax) are calculated, collected, and remitted by Paddle as Merchant of Record, and are shown at checkout where required.
8. Service availability and discontinuation
We work to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or indefinite operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time and for any reason (for example, if a third-party AI provider becomes unavailable, if operating costs become unsustainable, or if we are required to do so by law).
If we decide to discontinue the Service entirely, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to give you at least 30 days' advance notice by email or in-app notice, and to provide a tool to export any summaries or transcripts you have saved. Except for the 7-day money-back guarantee described in Section 7, discontinuation of the Service does not entitle you to a refund of fees already paid. This reflects the fact that fees are used to build, run, and maintain the Service during the period you had access to it.
9. Trials
If we offer a free trial for the Pro plan, you can cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. If you do not cancel, the plan converts automatically to a paid subscription at the then-current price.
10. Intellectual property
The Service (including the extension code, website design, brand, and documentation) is owned by us and protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
You retain any ownership you already have in content you submit or generate through the Service. You grant us a limited licence to process that content only as necessary to operate the Service and to comply with law.
11. Feedback
If you send us feedback or ideas, you agree that we may use them without obligation to you and without any confidentiality restriction.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or to protect the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension.
13. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or produce accurate results.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
15. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify us against any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms, except that consumers may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where they live and may rely on mandatory local consumer-protection rules.
17. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new "Effective date" and, where required, by email or an in-app notice. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not, stop using the Service.
18. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms and ourPrivacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
- Severability. If a provision is held unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.
